As a person who is adopted I have recognized the need for specialized support for adult adoptees in a) support finding your birth parents and the resources that will get them there, b) staying healthy and managing the intense emotions related to the process of searching for biological parents, finding them, meeting them and relationship development c) participating in psychoeducation about the impact of adoption on one’s life in all realms. I have learned from experience that there are not enough supports/guides to help you navigate these uncertain waters. I also offer support to prospective adopting parents, information and education that will benefit both the child, the parents, and in some cases, the birth children as well.
