Burnout is a general dissatisfaction with your job, physical exhaustion and a lack of drive to carry on.
Compassion Fatigue symptoms mimic PTSD, and can evoke feelings of dread, increased anxiety and begin to change the hard wiring of the brain. The individual may also feel like they lack the resources to fulfill their obligations at work. What was once doable, has become too much to bear.
We have to take care of ourselves, so that we can continue to care for others.
